Funding can go a long way

The Wishing Chair Foundation has three goals for 2024-2025. We have appointed two salaried employees to oversee fundraising in the USA from August 2024-2025. Our aim is to raise $500,000 for the coming year. Our goals are to:

  • Secure the future of the foundation as a stable and high functioning charitable foundation which can raise funds for educational opportunities for underserved students.

  • Increase the number of scholarships available for underserved students to experience study programs in Ireland. ‘Underserved’ includes students with income challenges, minority students, students with intellectual and physical challenges and students for whom a study program abroad is highly unlikely to happen without support.

  • Provide funds for educators in underserved communities to participate in Professional development training which will help address other issues in accessibility to cultural competency programming – including internationalizing the classroom, addressing student anxiety, first generation students and families, students with intellectual and physical challenges and study travel, and students for whom a study program abroad is highly unlikely to happen without support.

Your donation – large or small – is much appreciated. All donors will be acknowledged on the Wishing Chair Foundation Donor list and your support will allow us to provide life-changing experiences to the young Americans who need them most.
